It’s all a bit confusing.
Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte's mother said her son and three teammates were robbed at gunpoint at a party in Brazil early on Sunday, but an Olympic official quickly told media this was "not true."

Illeana Lochte told Fox Sports that the swimmer and three teammates were invited to an Olympic party by Brazilian swimmer Thiago Pereira in Rio when they were held at gunpoint and robbed early Sunday morning.
The 32-year-old Olympic champion's mother said that Lochte immediately called her afterward, describing the incident as "terrifying" and saying that his wallet had been taken.
She said she and Lochte's girlfriend were going to meet Lochte after the incident, and that he was now waiting for them safe at the Olympic village.

Shortly after this report was published, however, a spokesperson for the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Mark Adams, said at a press conference that the story was "absolutely not true."
Adams said his denial was based on information from the US Olympic Committee (USOC) and Lochte himself.
A spokesperson for the USOC told the Associated Press that they were trying to find out more information about the reports, while a spokesperson for the Rio organizers, Mario Andrada, said he was briefed on an "issue" involving the swimmer, but could not say if he was held at gunpoint.
The IOC, USOC, and Lochte's management team did not immediately return requests for comment.
Lochte swam in two events at the Rio Games, winning gold in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
