Review : How to Live 24 hours a day

Favourite Quotes/points;

- "Sleep is party a matter of habit -- and of slackness"
- You can accomplish x2 in 1 morning hour than an evening hour
- After a long day of work, "look facts in the face and admit your not tired"
- Don't arrange evenings with dinner in the middle

-Employe 1 1/2 hours every other evening in some important and consecutive cultivation of the mind. However, give yourself a larger slot of time as life happens (9 - 11:30). Study a topic in this time frame, interests like music, daily habits/economy, poetry (if hate begin by reading "Hazlitt's famous essay on the nature of 'Poetry in general'" or "Aurora Leigh" by E.B. Browning), history or philosophy. When reading to properly give credit to the words need to reflect for 45 minutes.

- The travel to/from work - give to mind, cultivate your mind - focus on a single subject the entire trip or study your own self. Reflect upon your life, upon the relation between principles and conduct.

Synopsis
This classic personal time-management book originally published in 1908 has inspired generations of men and women to live deliberate lives. Not just another collection of timesaving tips, this book is more of a challenge to leave behind mundane everyday concerns, focus on pursuing one's true desires, and live the fullest possible life. Reflection, concentration, and study techniques make it easier to accomplish more truly rewarding undertakings than anyone ever dreamed possible.

My thought
I quite ejoyed this book and big part of that is because its not overwritten - it just gets to the point. This life philosophy in this book is not a big departure for me but two things resonated: one - to take time to self-reflect durring idle time, and two - to make use of your extra time to beome an expert in something.

Good advise, easy read, and I'd highly recommend it for anyone working on self-improvement.

Summary
With a little mental effort, you can "translate" his suggestions from nearly 100 years ago to your life today. there were time-sucks then and his ideas are just as applicable now.
