Book Blurb
The adventures of Mowgli, a man-child raised by wolves in the jungle, have captured the imaginations not just of children, but of all readers, for generations.Mowgli is raised in the jungle by a pack of wolves. He grows up happy in the jungle, learning the ways of his world from a host of animal friends. But Bagheera, a black panther, realizes that as Mowgli becomes a man, the dangers of him living among the jungle denizens will increase - especially because the tiger, Sher Khan feels threatened by Mowgli's presence; so, Bagheera seeks to return Mowgli to the world of humans.

My thought
I've never read this as a child, but, like most kids, i've seen the Disney animation movie(s) and was totally shocked when i started reading the original book. It's completely different than the childhood story i knew and i just couldn't imagine that i had been referring to such a classic by it's counterfeit animation version. Kipling was able to make me care a lot about these animals. The first three chapters deal with the characters we usually associate with this title: Mowgli, Baloo, Kaa, etc. The last 4 are stand-alone stories. I loved the Mowgli stories Happy that i finally got to reading the book
