A successful stolen art insurance investigator, Prudence Paley is called home to be by her dying father's side. Prudence, fiercely independent, and confused as to what she wants out of life, should she stay after the death of her father, or return to her glamorous life traveling the world looking for stolen art. She experiences mounting conflicting feelings which she cannot ignore that will resonate throughout the rest of her life. While attending a charity luncheon and fashion show, Prudence is suddenly caught up in a famous model's murder. Even though, there was no real connection between Tashama and Prudence, Tashama passes Prudence a note asking for help. This puts Prudence's career in the spotlight. As she is beginning to work with the police on Tashama's murder, a second model, Jenna Johnson, is murdered. As both cases progress; she realizes this case is more about stolen art and diplomatic bags than the modeling world. It's beginning to appear as if the murders are more about revenge against her than the models. What starts out as a family's revenge on Prudence, takes a turn, and revenge has to take a back seat to survival of their own. As she comes to rely on the detective handling the case, the tension between them is riveting. Tired of playing games, she makes the first move toward a relationship.

My thought
I enjoyed this book and loved the story line. I didn't know until the surprising ending who the 'bad guy' was. prudence show us that all women can relate to: fun-loving and fiercely independent, fashionable and glamorous, with a tough exterior but a yearning for true love
Prudence is a classy but tough lady and I look forward to her next adventure - soon, I hope,
this book is not just for mystery readers and with romance not just for women
